Here is what I did to mount an ISO image of my game CD (Battle Isle 2) in DOSBox:

1) Burn the ISO image (Joliet format is what works for me).
2) Download an unsupported virtual CD driver from Microsoft (Windows XP only).
3) Read/follow the ReadMe.Txt.
4) Mount the ISO image as, say I:
5) Edit your DOSBox configuration to mount drive I: as your CDROM.

Tada 😎

This is a solution to ... what problem, exactly?
(And, ever heard of Daemon Tools?)

Yes, it’s my fault.

Nope, never heard of DT.

Btw, was that a stupid question to a stupid answer?

Thanks for the suggestion but i think some people already know about it and DAEMON TOOLS ROCKS! - Sorry couldn't resist. 😁

I use it as well. I've got images from all my old CDs and burned the image files to new DVDs backups. Moved the old CD collection to the attic. That increased space around here a bit!

I agree. I will do the same as soon as i get a DVD burner. Awaiting for a double-layer standard to appear, though (i have even heard some current drives -> Pioneer A06 write to those discs by just updating the firmware).

Whoa, Pioneer A06 can write to dual-layer DVD-Rs? That's pretty impressive, seeing as how they don't exist. 😁

Yes, it’s my fault.

Why are you saying that? A06 is the same as 106 but OEM packaged. Or was it the other way around?

If you are referring to dual-layered writing, the drive needs a special firmware update which haven't been released to public. Pioneer showed that on a recent computers fair. Don't recall its name.

I was referring to the fact that there is no such thing as a dual-layer DVD-R.

Yes, it’s my fault.

But it's not out yet.

Snover, you stand corrected, then? 😁
