I recently found out that, contrary to what I have always believed, the LAPC-1
is not a repackaged MT-32, but actually closer to a CM-32L. From what
I hear, the CM-32L was released after the MT-32, and was improved
somewhat (more RAM or ROM, extra sounds). Most of the information I've
found on the LAPC-1 says that its specifications are 100% identical to the
CM-32L, but there is one source (A 10 year old Roland FAQ posted to
USENET) which says that the LAPC-1 is a CM-32L with even more patch RAM
and enhanced sound effects:

Does anyone here have manuals for the CM-32L and the LAPC-1 so I can
finally know the truth? Are there differences between the LAPC-1 and the
CM-32L, aside from the former being an internal ISA card and the latter
an external box?
