Hi
I have the settlers 3 game that I'd like to play again. I've tried to run it on DOSBox but I get the message 'This program cannot be run in DOS mode' is there any way to fix this? I'm hoping I'm doing it right, since this is my first attempt at using an emulator and there doesn't seem to be a lot of info for settlers 3 apparently everyone else plays 1-2!
Anyway I appriciate any help 😀

Settlers III is a Windows game, in fact since it was released in 1998 it's probably a Windows 95 game. It's likely possible to run it in DOSBox, but you'll need to get and install an appropriate copy of Windows (3.1 or 95).

Windows 3.1 Guide: Windows 3.1x DOSBox Guide
Windows 95 Guide: Windows 9x DOSBox Guide (Not officially supported)

Generrally though I'd guess that's a lot more complicated a process than you really need to go through for a Win 95 game. Try following the details from this MS thread about getting the game running...

If it was a Windows 3.1 game, it would say "This program requires Microsoft Windows". Only 32-bit Windows programs refer to "DOS mode".

Running Windows 95 in DOSBox is not particularly advisable.
