If the game only supports offline play then I guess you're looking for something like the Remote Desktop in Windows, or Citrix, but I suspect you're not prepared to go that far (network policies and whatnot). It's usually the Professional editions of Windows, not the Home editions, that include RDP; and there must be a central location running a server version of Windows because client versions don't allow multiple concurrent RDP sessions.

You are right about the information that I failed to mention. None of us owns the business version or a server version of our OS unfortunately, which is why we tried Teamviewer as an alternative. It works great, but the remote person is not able to move the cursor inside the dosbox screen.

Is there also an option just to play the game with only two people over the internet?

And how hard is it to set up a server? I have an old laptop with a broken screen which I dont use, so it could be turned into a server.

Check out Go2PC, it's suitable for two people sharing a desktop, and it's free. Dunno if it will work well for your purpose, though.

I will try it out later today and let you if it works or not for this purpose.

The OP used the word "simultaneously" in the thread title, and mentioned trying to use Teamviewer, so I figured some kind of hotseat-style offline play is desired. A virtual network might be useful for other kinds of turn-based play, though.

Apologies for my late reply. We tried GO2pc, but unfortunately it did not work any better than using Teamviewer and dosbox.

To make it easier we only want to play the game from two locations. My brothers from one house and me from my own. The biggest problem we encountered was the mouse movement. I was unable to steer the mouse from the remote location inside dosbox. If there is a fix for that our issue is solved.

We will try to use Tiger and UltraVNC this weekend to see if mouse control works better than using Teamviewer.

There are "virtual KVM" utilities like Synergy that allow a computer to remotely take control of the mouse and keyboard of another computer. I'm still not exactly sure what you're trying to do, but it seems to me that might be what you are looking for – or at least it might be useful in conjunction with a program like TigerVNC.

Championship manager is a game that is played offline and is installed on one computer. Everybody that plays has to take turns and be physically present to play. Well, we do not really live close enough to each other to stop by every week, so our idea was to install the game on one PC and play from another location by using a remote control programme like Teamviewer. I think that is what you call a "virtual KVM utility" and so I will take your advise and try it out asap! Thank you very much for your help.
