Cheap MIDI options?

So, now that I've got my DOS time machine working nicely, I've decided it's time to upgrade my sound options and look for a SC-55 or something similar to attach to the SB16 I've got in in. Just for shits and giggles I looked up how much I could get for my XR385 daughtercard and HOLY SHIT. The last and only one to sell in completed listings went for about $87.

Are there any other cheap MIDI options out there now that that Chinese guy or whoever it was ran out of these cards? I intend to go full out on the Roland gear soon, but it'd be nice to see if there were a backup alternative in case of hardware failure.

You might want to turn your eye to Taobao auctions. Yamaha DB50XGs are sold at about $30 there. But you'll have to pay for middleman's services. I got my DB50XG recently for $55 (where $25 was the board price itself, and the rest was middleman's commission and delivery).
