I have a windows 7 pro 64 system that does not support xp mode...

I run dosbox (which I love by the way) and type install.exe....

it asked for a install.nfo so I made a blank one

then it asked for a boot.nfo

so I made a blank one

then the installer beeps and says type start to play the game but it has not done anything....

so I am stuck ....

Follow the 60 Seconds Guide.
60 seconds guide to getting your game to run in DOSBox

Also, if you are trying to install something that you downloaded from somewhere, it is entirely possible that you have an incomplete or corrupted copy of the game, or at least one that is already "installed" and that does not require re-installation.

Run the program under DosBox, see...installing it doesn't magically (or ever, really) make double click associate any kind of .exe with it.

They are also usually included by warez groups in illegal copies of games. Are you trying to install this game from its original disks?

There is nothing about running the installer in DOSBox that would magically make the game require nonexistent .nfo files. Either you are doing something wrong or you are not using a complete, legal copy of the game.

"BOOT.NFO" and "INSTALL.NFO" contain important installation info, you can find those files on the game CD.
