I finished The Last of Us on the PS3, and was looking for another game that was somewhat similar. I picked up the PC version of Dishonored and really enjoyed it. I like games where there are more than one way to accomplish a task instead of being stuck on a linear track with only one way to get to the objective.

Steam said it took me about 20 hours to complete Dishonored, and I just picked up the DLC during the recent summer sale so will probably go though that before moving on to something else.

These are the ones I remember for sure. There are lots of older games which I've most likely completed but cannot recall for sure are not included. That's why the list seems to have mostly newer games, but also games weren't always designed to be completed back in the day, and that wasn't a problem.

Metro Last Light

Didn't enjoy it as much as the first one but the environment in game is very good.

Metro needs to be more open world, it's waaaay too linear.

Finished Deadlight in 6 hours, pretty short, can it be called a full game? I'm adding it to my list anyway.

The graphics and atmosphere was pretty good, story ok, but at times the gameplay mechanics was making me rage.
Don't think I've played a side scroller in years.

There is a mod that disables GFWL, I recommend it even if you don't play the DLC.

Wow... installing that + the crack to remove the securrom BS made running the game a hell of alot better than before. Why the hell did Bethesda put so much DRM BS into the game like that anyways?

I really wish I could just put my CD key on Steam and get it over Steam but it wont let me... bah. Meanwhile putting the CD key for my UT3 collectors edition on Steam got me UT3 black edition... but apparently trying to register other games I see on steam that I have retail box copies refuses to work.

Finished the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim. Not really that great.

135 hours total and of course there are still some quests to do but I'm done! DONE!

Finished Dishonored, deserves a second play though but with a high chaos.
I think the game was considerably more difficult being a good guy, so easy to just kill.

Yeah I started playing the DLC Knife of dunwall and I heard there is another expansion as well.

Currently playing through Crysis 3 so Dishonored is on hold.

Crysis 3

Took 9 hours to finish.

Play on max settings @ 1920x1200 (except for one setting which was set to high due to an AMD bug).

Game was very playable on my old AMD 6970 video card. I didn't use any AA so it was probably around the 30fps mark but I never noticed any slowdowns.....unlike Metro Last light.

Debating on wether I should pickup the AMD 290x or not, considering I can play Crysis 3 at max settings but I've had this video card for about 3 years.....

Yeah I'm with you there.

Looking at my hardware I remembered that this is actually a 6950 with the shaders unlocked and the clock speed increased (so pretty much a 6970).

I'm sure I probably got it for about $300 so $100 per year isn't too bad.

Whereas it looks like the 290x might be around $600.....but the 290x is new hardware as opposed to the 280x.

Then on the Nvidia side there is G-Sync which would require me to buy a new monitor or supposedly mod my current one somehow and Nvidia still outnumbers ATI on Steam.

I've been happy with AMD drivers except for this latest issue with Crysis 3 (which is not a big deal) and some HDMI audio issues that were eventually fixes a couple of years ago.

As always SLI is out of the question so that never factors but after cleaning out my closet this weekend I noticed a Geforce 8800 I could have been using for PhysX all this time. DOH!

Looking at these benchmarks: http://videocardz.com/46822/first-amd-radeon- … ce-review-leaks

A 15fps increase doesn't seem worth $300 more bucks that's for sure. heh.

Decisions decisions

Bought the Geforce 780 after Nvidia discounted it when the 290 was released.

I've been playing Shadow Warrior (2013) with it and full details at 1920x1200 with no issues and didn't even hear the video card over the ambient noise.

Finished Shadow Warrior today and hopefully I can finish Minverva's Den by the end of the weekend. (I avoided it before since it was on Live and I couldn't back it up whereas with my Steam copy I now can back it up offline).
