(I hope that this is the right forum for this topic... please refer me further, otherwise)

I'm playing some old point&click games on my mac using DosBox (mostly pre-wrapped). I thought that it'd be nice to connect my mac to the TV, sit back, and control the game with my iPad using one of the many remote trackpad and keyboard apps. However, with any of the apps I've tried, mouse movement would work in the Finder and any other native app, but not in games running under DosBox emulation. Mouse clicks and keyboard functions work just fine, but the cursor wouldn't move. I've tried several apps, such as "Rowmote", "Wifisend" and "mobile mouse", on my iPad as well as my Android phone, with exactly the same result.

Does anybody know how to make this work (settings, different solution, etc.)?

Many thanks!

When I unlock the mouse from DOSBox, the cursor becomes controllable by iPad, smartphone, etc., but, obviously, that has no affect on DOSBox or the game I'm trying to control. When I lock the mouse back, same thing - No cursor control.

I'm really no expert in these things, but it seems to me that the way in which these apps (mobile mouse, Rowmote, etc.) communicate is different than hardware mice and trackpads, and uses a higher level protocol for cursor movement, with which DOSBox is not compatible. (interesting: when in windowed mode and moving the cursor with my iPad outside the DOSBox window to the edge of the screen, the cursor inside DOSBox start to move in the same direction, as long as I keep pushing the "outside" cursor "beyond" the edge of the screen..... funny).

It seems to me that what I need to find is either a way to make DOSBox respond to theses apps' cursor commands, or, a remote trackpad solution which works differently.

Does anybody aware of any possibility?

Pity that this doesn't work - it could be an ideal control method for these old point&clicks.

Thanks!
