does anyone know if the Roland md-35 can be used as a general midi module? It does general midi and it has midi ins and out. to me it looks like a sound canvas with a built in floppy drive but does anyone have any experience using one of these with games?

Do you mean SD-35? Wikipedia lists it as equivalent to an SC-50 (SC-55 without MT-32 sounds).

yhea, that's what i meant. I possibly have the opportunity to pick one up cheap. I already have an mt-32 but not an sc-55 but I just wanted to to know if this unit will do general midi with pc games else its useless to me.

Judging by the user manual it looks like it will work fine.

Anything that takes MIDI and produces sound from it can be used as MIDI module 😀
