I have been searching on a way to create an interesting boot image for my DOS, since i have seen and have experienced some first hand.
I have been searching for a way to do this and have found an application pack called Blackout.
I thought ok, this would work, but it seemed like too much hustle to get to work.

So i googled some more and found this: http://web.archive.org/web/20080607223336/htt … s.logotypes.se/

Can any one tell me more about the whole Logo thing, and whats the best way to get an static image logo for boot screen? (Or even better, an animated one!) 😀

I think AdvMAME includes a program to show a logo during boot.

..But why would you want that? DOS boots in 2 seconds anyway 🤣

Just google "gif2exe" or similar and you get something you can stick at the end of your autoexec.bat.

Not exactly the same as the win9x startup logo (nothing else is loaded while it displays, and it needs a keypress to exit). But with DOS that's arguably a good thing, since you'd want to watch for any error messages etc. during the boot process.

Once everything is configured there wont be no need for error listing.
And even if an error occurs i can always disable the boot screen.

DOS 7.1 also has an option to show a logo screen during boot. It's the same option used by Windows 95 and Windows 98.

Just checked, I think VIDEO.EXE from AdvCAB is what you need.
