Slowing programs in VDMS

How does one actually slow games down when running with VDMS, so that it runs at dosbox speeds? I tried slowdown and moslo; the games lag a little but do not run at a constantly slower rate. So maybe I am using it wrongly.

For slowdown I first create a VDMS shortcut, then I insert the command line (eg. slowdown /MHz486:66) under autoexec of "dos environment". For moslo, I create the the shortcut to run moslo itself (being in the game directory), then I put something like "/10 game.exe" under argument. Is that all correct? Thanks for any help.

Tried the CAPPING DOS FREQUENCY and TRY TO REDUCE CPU USAGE under advanced options? These options may help.
