Hiya!
A friend gifted me a Chaintech 486SLE mobo with a 486/66 cpu. The mobo works fine (just needs a CR2032 battery mod) and I see that it has jumpers to support 3v cpus but one of them is hardwired to 5v and the 3v transformer is missing, there is a socket though for it...
Thanks to Robin4 I have the jumper settings: http://web.archive.org/web/20040613180806oe_/ … UAL/4sle200.GIF
and here are some pics of the mobo in question:
CPU support:
regulator area, JP24 is hardwired and is on the upper-left part of the VLB slot, the flashed ruined the photo 😵
and here a couple of boot screens , the mobo has the "recent" award bios and it's the reason I mainly want to mess with it... 😊
The plan is to make a build with 66 or 100mhz 486 (if I can make it work), 16MB of ram , vlb I/O and a VLB vga (WDC90C33 or CL-5428 that I have in hand atm)...
I would imagine that by adding a proper regulator (which?) and making JP24 a proper jumper thing would work... ? or burn 🤣
Any feedback/help is greatly appreciated 😊
