These are very handy. I used to make them out of wood and cardboard but the real plastic ones are so much better 😀
Btw, that long tube thing is for applying thermal paste??

Well, it looks like if I ever need some component repair job done, I know who to ask 🤣

Yeah you right, its an solder sucker pump for through hole boards.. Its for cleaning the holes out, that works much better on reinstalling new components trough the board..
When inserted again, its just soldering back on the board and its finished.
I had already an suck pump, but is was quit expensive.. Now that the tip is been worn it doest work good anymore.. And its hard to come by on a new tip.. Its very limited to find..
So i thought, lets look for an cheaper quality look one, and looking first if there are spare tips available.. So thats why i bought that solder sucker.
I already have tried out my new desolder station, but iam not really happy about that one.. The gun is cheap.. Has a big suck pump, but i think its doesnt suck very great..
If i try the smallest 1mm nozzle/ tip its doesnt work on little holes like ICs and so on.. But it works great on bigger holes..
So now iam think of selling this unit and go for more expensiver pro stuff..
Better said: You get what you paid for! Do not think of getting quality about 150 euros!
Only the biggest profit is that spare parts like filters are easy to find..
For the unit it self its worth the money..
But the desolder gun its self its just a piece of cheap shit!.

Easy_John is becoming the new Artex! Soon enough Russian post office delivery will start giving him "the look" as well. 🤣

Installed a 5.25" HD FDD and found the BIOS setup software thru VCF (cool). Installing NetWare now. 😉 I had to configure XMS and 12MHZ (versus 8MHZ) through the BIOS.
Nice system! Time to put in some elbow grease and scrub that beautiful NEC machine clean...that gross sticker has got to go and the rest cleaned up....the NEC deserves a little TLC I think 😀
You're only allowed to post pics of that system when it's cleaned up a bit 🤣

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Actually...lysol disinfecting wipes work really well..theyre good and cheap too...they also do double duty by removing viruses and bacteria! Lol
As for the sticker and residue..use some cooking oil or "googone" before you clean it with a soap or lysol wipes.
For one of my new spares now:
Previously i had bought a same board from that guy from who i bought this board to.
The first board was first class cheapest manufactured board i ever have seen..
When soldering the traces went loose suddenly. I was very angry at that moment..
Iam trying to fix the first one.. But this board will fill my collection on the board i had broken..
Me is very happy now.. I know these boards are pretty expensive now.
So now iam done on XT boards.
