Quest For Glory 4 1/2 won't run

Anybody please help me out? I've played succesfully QFG1-4 and loved them, and of course wanted to try out the 4 1/2 also... haven't been able to run the Windows version, and dos versión isn't going much better:

first dosbox complained "Load Error: no DPMI - Get csdpmi*b.zip" So I downloaded the file and put the "CWSDPMI.EXE" into the qfg41/2 folder. Now we've moved a bit further, but not much:

dosbox displays: SET BLASTER= A220 I7 D1 H5 T6; copyrights etc; 486 CPU detected; checking sound inits, but then it goes black and nothing happens.

dosbox is the latest versión (74), the game itself doesn't have any versión info (but I think there's just one, or?) and neither has the CWSDPMI. And I have Windows 7 home Premium service pack 1, 64 bits. any ideas what do now? Mavaan

I suggest using the r5 version of CWSDPMI, get it here: http://homer.rice.edu/~sandmann/cwsdpmi/index.html

If you are using r5 and the game crashes with an error message about a page fault then try running CWSDPMI.EXE with a -x parameter before running the game.

As I say there, it may be easiest to get AGS for Windows 2.23 and use it to open the game's EXE.

Okey, thanx everybody, with the r5 it has at least started 😊 😊 😊 so let's see about the crashes but here I am on way to see the stripteas 😵
