I had a perfectly good P233MMX system in this case previously, but I kept buying parts until I got to where I am now 😎 I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't resist upgrading when parts are relatively cheap. The idea was to take a Socket 7 AT system to its limits, minimising noise and without overclocking, while catering for DOS and early 3D games from 1990 to 2000.
CPU/Misc
Generic AT mini tower case <- Taped edges
Real PC speaker <- Resistor modded to a nice volume
Seasonic SS-300FS 300W ATX PSU, Active PFC <- Quiet, quality caps
ATX->AT PSU converter <- Gotta have a real power button 😀
ASUS TXP4 (AT, TX Chipset, Jan Steunebrink's BIOS, PS/2 & 2 x USB, LPT & 2 x Serial)
AMD K6-3+ 400 ATZ (66 * 6, 2.0V)
HSF w/YSTech fan <- Downvolted to 5V for quietness
256MB SDRAM, CL2 <- Cached by K6-3+

Yamaha YMF718 <- Real OPL, MPU-401 w/SoftMPU
NEC XR385 <- Attached to YMF header, L/R panning fix
Video
STB Nitro 3D 4MB (Virge GX, 30ns EDO) <- 2D & S3D
Orchid Righteous 3D (Voodoo1, 35ns EDO) <- DOS Glide. Gotta have the relay click
Matrox M3D <- SGL. In shared PCI/ISA slot
3Dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI <- Win9x Glide
Storage
Sony 3.5" 1.44MB FDD
Teac FD-55GFR 5.25" 1.2MB FDD

NEC CDR-273 (Quad speed IDE) <- Quiet CD drive, reads CD-Rs
Mitsubishi LS-120 Drive <- Great for recovering data from dodgy floppies
All running Win98SE. Let me know if you can think of anything else to do to this system! I though about a NIC but I actually quite like just swapping files with just a USB stick.
Next up is a Athlon-C 1Ghz/Voodoo5/MX300 build...
Matrox M3D nestled in the shared PCI slot
XR385 mounted on the bottom of the case, connected to YMF DB header
