Hi everyone !

I'm having some fullscreen problems and after a quick search on the forum i can't find what i'm looking for.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned (i'm sure it has).

I want to play some games in fullscreen mode but they freeze so internet tells me to modify the .conf file... But i can't find it !

Do i have to create it myself ? What must i put in it ?

Thanks in advance for you help !

thanks i've located the file and did the following modification

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=0x0
windowresolution=0x0
output=overlay
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper.txt
usescancodes=true

but when i try to play dungeon keeper gold in fullscreen it still freezes. Any ideas ? 😒

Try output=openglnb or output=surface. If not, then try fullscreen=false along with output=overlay (your previous attempts and configurations are not listed).

I found the previsous config on a video. A lot of comment said it worked but i guess not for me.

I tried the following config :

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=original
windowresolution=original
output=openglnb
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=original
windowresolution=original
output=surface
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

fullscreen=false
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=original
windowresolution=original
output=overlay
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

with the same results. Any more ideas ?

Not same result. Given you edited the correct file, then you ran that last configuration in windowed mode (not full screen). Since you can't run dosbox from window nor full screen, then you should follow the "60 seconds guide" in the Guides section. It has instructions for novice dosbox users.

I've checked that topic and the diffent guide that are linked but same result.

Maybe it's not possible to have it run in fullscreen for windows 7 64 bit ? I even tried changing the screen resolution from 32 to 64 bit but same result 😒

I don't have a true Windows machine anymore, but in my 64bit VM

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=original
windowresolution=original
output=surface
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

worked fine, but so did all other outputs. I remember this working in my actual Windows machine as well. So I'd say it's a problem with your machine. Make sure you get the latest driver for your graphics card.

Off topic: damn, Windows sucks... after not having used the VM in quite some time, it downloads and downloads Updates, restarts, immediately after restart wants to restart again and then still downloads more updates....
