Hi, I am very new to DOSBox - but not to DOS, at least not since DOS 2.01. I see where you can add commands normally found in autoexec.bat at the bottom of DOSBox 0.74 Options.bat. I'm wondering - where do you stick commands you normally put in config.sys - for example a gsscgi driver? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

DOSBox is for games and there are not many games (if any at all) that need config.sys support.
Use a different program for what you need.

I was actually going to use it for a schematic capture program - HI Wire - I used 25 years ago. Do you know of any other DOS emulators out there? Thanks.

There are various programs out there that can be used to load a .sys driver from the command line without using config.sys – devload, drvload, ddl, loadsys, and others. Google should help you find them. Some work better than others.

It is also possible to use a config.sys in DOSBox directly if you boot DOS within DOSBox from a disk image, but this method has limitations; in particular, you can only access disk images after booting and not mounted directories.

In any case, if your particular capture program relies on specific properties of the hardware for which it was originally designed, then DOSBox will be of no help, as DOSBox does not generally have such low-level emulation.
