Here we go, nice little problem that I can't find a solution for on the forums already.

Recently formatted my computer, installed Kyrandia book One (English CD version). Set up the sound (Soundblaster Live) and music (Same), and isntead of music or dialogue I get a rather annoying screech. Ok, turn off sound and music, the game runs fine otherwise. But I got the CD version for the voices and music, not just the game (if I wanted just the game I've got an Amiga and Kyrandia for it, damnnit 😀 ), and it annoyed me that I couldn't use it to its fullest. So I get VDMSound (newest version, 2.1.0 beta), and install it. I chose the simplest approach, using the "Run with VDMSound" option, and got the following error

"Unable to load font 8FAT.FNT
Reinstall Program"

Now, the simplest answer would be "Reinstall the damn program!" EXCEPT for the fact that I was using VDMSound and it runs fine without VDMSound minus the actual sound problem.

My question, obviously, is how do I get around this supposed missing font, and is it part of Kyrandia or something that VDMSound is overriding?
