I've been running the Voodoo2's for a while on 98SE and XP, without major problems. In the past i've have run Carmageddon using a Glide wrapper, so i wanted to run it on the real thing.
After booting DOS 7.1, and installing Carmageddon + Voodoo patches, i tried to run it. Crash. Both with the CARMAV.EXE and VOODO2C.exe file. GTA Voodoo also crashes. Going from SLI to 1 card also didn't help, same thing with different rev. Voodoo2, clean boot, lowering clockspeed, disabling L2 cache. Then i replaced the DOS4GW dos extender with DOS/32. Instead of a crash, it catches an exception, Protection Fault. This happens to all DOS Voodoo programs (like Nature, Diagnostics/SDK), even after deleting all the GLIDE2X.OVL files from my drive. It seems like some kind of init bug.
It is driving me crazy; not being able to run DOS Voodoo games on my pc would be a dissapointment.
