If you want in on the OPLSAx bandwagon and have a spare 700 bucks, then here's your chance:

I hope nobody tells him you can still buy those cards new in box for $10.

Nothing special about it at all, EXCEPT that it is located in Australia where vintage computer parts are a bit harder to come by. Someone who really, REALLY wants a board like that will pay the money or at least make an offer that the seller might accept.

That's ridiculous! No ones going to buy that. Not even new! Maybe he figures that because of the sticker on the front that some proud American is going to buy it for his country...

Ps: that's in no way a stab at you American folk, you guys are awesome!

Holy crap this is the most expensive ISA graphics card ever:

That better come with a vacation or something.

Look at it again. It's not a normal video card. It's from a piece of equipment. There is no cover plate around the VGA connector. Someone who needs that card, and only that card, will pay for it. It's cheaper than replacing the machine that needs it, I'm sure.

Except not... socket 7 stuff is pretty common here, in fact there are several socket 7 motherboards on ebay au for less than $100 right now.
If someone is silly enough to buy that for the asking price, more fool them.

If you are squeamish, don't prod the beach rubble.

Tyan S1837... only 958 bucks. Pretty much anything listed by this dude is ridiculously bloated in price.

Wired for service and newsgroups are 2 people (companies?) that I wish would just go away. If there was an option on ebay to forever block certain sellers, I would do it.

These dickheads are driving up the price on stuff that should be dirt cheap.

That Duke3D price is the buy it now price. Bidding starts at $3.99 so if anyone wants it, they're not going to have to pay nearly that much.

Regarding the seller "wiredforservice", I've purchased a few items from this seller in the recent past (Voodoo 1 + 2 Cards). He's very flexible regarding offers and wiped off around 50% each time.

In my opinion, sellers like /\ are selling at these prices because they know people are willing to spend the money. If buyers weren't then his feedback wouldn't be currently at 4433.
