Not just related to Vogons,
Sometimes, it's ....all I can say is....*yech*..... they sound too artificial when they claim that they are asking it for "their friend" or family member or relative, but most often it's "for their friends".
It get more suspicious when they are first time posters, or they "reveal" later in the thread, that that they are "actually asking for their friend" when they are questioned for not knowing the basic things by other members.
Why can't they just ask the question and be done with it? What are they so shameful of?
I still ask questions for myself whenever I don't know something. Sometimes, even if my friend actually ask a question and I don't know it, I still ask as though it's only me asking directly.
There might be genuine cases of people asking for their friends, but still, for those who feign....*yech*....
