I do not understand the question, as drives require remounting every time DOSBox is restarted. If you have particular lines in the [autoexec] section of your DOSBox.conf, then you will only need to copy them over to the new DOSBox.conf, preceisely as you did before.

If you do not want the status window to appear, then you need to edit whatever shortcut you are using to launch DOSBox to include the "-noconsole" parameter.
