Something just struck me. What if you updated to the latest bios version?

Just ran Unreal 1600x1200x16 (Glide) on my K6-3+Voodoo5 machine. Everything looks fine here.
I tried to set the refreshrate in the game to 75 Hz, but it stays at 60 Hz. I also tried to turn Vsync off, but the framerate jumps between 30 and 60 fps, so I guess it's still on.

Thanks for testing. I can add that options such as VSync, triple buffering, refresh optimization and AGP command FIFO (have it at 2x) didn't change anything.

It is interesting that you weren't able to change the refresh rate, as well. Seems like the game pulls the refresh rate from the monitor's EDID or something, which would make the .ini setting quite pointless.

Well, maybe. BIOS version is 1.06 on there. I still have this bricked V3 3500TV lying around that I didn't get around to fix yet, so I don't have the best experiences with that... 🤣

I should also note that I do have a PowerVR PCX2 in this PC, but it's disabled of course, so I don't think this would be a problem...

I think the latest one was 1.18? I do remember flashing my Voodoo 5 to the latest one and it was quite easy to do, much like updating the BIOS of your motherboard. It may solve your problems and it is worth a try IMO.

As for the PCX2, I'd remove it, just in case. I mean, you have tried everything, why not this one too?

Also, get this: Re: 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP video card, quick test

"If you try 1600x1200 and get horizontal bars with your V5, go to the 3dfx Tools and set Digital SLI to Enabled. For most games I like to set Digital SLI to Default. (games like NFS:HS have horizontal bars with setting enabled)"

Seems to be the same issue you have!

Now that is quite interesting! Strong search-fu right there 😊

Though I'm not entirely sure what he means by that. I thought the SLI on VSA-100 is always digital, as opposed to the analog one on Voodoo2. He also uses a 3rd party driver I'm not familiar with. Might be that single chip mode is meant here, which removed those bars for me as well...

If the SLI scheme on Voodoo5 would be limited in such a fashion I don't get why it works when using the other APIs...
