Galium isn't actually liquid metal. It remains solid up to about body temperature. If you were to hold it in your hand, it would be solid when you picked it up but after a few seconds in your hand it would become like softened butter.

Wow... like sucking the calcium out of human bones.

Also explains why they decided to take those really cool chemistry sets that we older types got as toys when we were kids off the store shelves. 🤣
