Hi,

I'm trying to run DOSBox 0.61 on my Pentium 4 2.54GHz system running Windows XP SP1. I have 1GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 4Ti video card with 64MB of RAM on board. I cannot get DOSBox to run after installing it. It briefly opens a dos box, then displays "Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)" before closing the window down. Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can fix the problem?

use 0.60

0.61 and nvidia aren't always best friends....

Thank you so much for the tip! 0.60 is working great for me! 😁

Well, i'm using a Radeon 9600 and Dosbox 0.61 (for the game "Albion"). It shows the same behaviour as described by PoisonIrvy.

Are there similar HW-Problems I should know of? Maybe my SB Audigy 2 leads to this symptoms.

Asus A7N8X - NForce2 Chipset
512 MB DDR-Dual Channel
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Ati Radeon 9600 with erm... i think 128MB gfx-Ram

OpenGL problem in 0.61. Use CVS build or wait for 0.62.

Im running Fedora Core 1, Pentium 3 900Mhz, 512 RAM, Gforce 2MX 64ram
kernel 2.4.22-1.2188.nptl
nvidia drivers 1.0-5336

I try with dosbox 0.61 and 0.60 with the same results

[slayer@inferno slayer]$ dosbox
CONFIG:Can't find config file dosbox.conf, using default settings
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Can someone give a config example?

I will try with the CVS version, I hope it works!

You do not need DOSBOX.CONF to start DOSBOX. There is a different problem. Perhaps try to change/reinstall SDL.
