Another lot of old PC components has been delivered to my today, mainly graphics cards ISA, AGP and PCI, but also a VLB card, and more. What immediately caught my attention is this 3DFX card I had never seen:
The site http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/ helped me to identify this adapter, it's a 3DFX Rush, with an interesting note on my precise model:
Hard to find Macronix MX86251 6 MB - This card seems to have made the rounds under a number of different names including Magic Rush3D and Pro Comp G-105.
Apparently it was the first effort by 3DFX to join the 3D to 2D, but with poor results to what I read! A sort of 'father' of the future Banshee model. Did you have this model? They were really so bad at performances? I will document and maybe I'll do some testing.
Without change something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.
