Another lot of old PC components has been delivered to my today, mainly graphics cards ISA, AGP and PCI, but also a VLB card, and more. What immediately caught my attention is this 3DFX card I had never seen:

The site http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/ helped me to identify this adapter, it's a 3DFX Rush, with an interesting note on my precise model:
Hard to find Macronix MX86251 6 MB - This card seems to have made the rounds under a number of different names including Magic Rush3D and Pro Comp G-105.

Apparently it was the first effort by 3DFX to join the 3D to 2D, but with poor results to what I read! A sort of 'father' of the future Banshee model. Did you have this model? They were really so bad at performances? I will document and maybe I'll do some testing.

A Jazz Multimedia Adrenaline Rush 3D passed through my hands a couple of years ago. I never really did much with it; I have never read anything to indicate that it is not just generally useless. You probably shouldn't waste your time.

🤣 it is the exact card I used to own back in either 97 or 98.
It is an awful card - it used to hang almost always during gameplay. It was probably caused by bad drivers, which were almost impossible to find online.
plus you couldn't used the generic drivers from 3dfx.com

More of a collectable curiosity then something you would actually want to use.

Collector of old computers, hardware, and software

I would swap it for a good old pair of V2's anytime. Perhaps it's worth more.

Out of curiosity, did you post your card on ebay like two or so years ago? Now that I remember I think I know whom I got mine from 🤣
