It's been too long so I don't remember if the game has always had this problem. Regardless of the settings I use, I get flashing graphics issues during motion. It's like certain drawn shapes will flash to a brighter single color version of themselves, then right back. It doesn't crash the game, it's just distracting. I've tried every version of VGA machine type, turning off scaling, varying cycles, and different cores. I even tried setting the game to MCGA instead of SVGA (looked terrible, so I switched back without fully testing.)

Is this something with the game itself, or is there something in the config settings I'm not thinking about.

Thank you 😀

Right now, I'm fighting with 11th Hour. 11th Hour the audio is distorted (sounds like it's clipping, but it isn't.) On a search for that, found that this happens if the game is running to fast. As an experiment, I slowed 7th guest down and the graphics problems are better. Around 10,000 cycles they become much more tolerable without the jerkiness of being too slow. Still not completely better, but not near as bad.

The problem with 11th hour... If it's too slow, the in game effects sound distorted, too fast and the cut scenes are distorted. I've been loading & re-loading with different speeds trying to find a balance, and failing miserably 🙁 The site I read, said to use frame skipping, but that doesn't seem to help unless I set it at 5 or higher. Also, it seems to vary from load to load. I finally get it set so that it sounds good, play a while without issue, exit.... Time passes, lets play some more, and suddenly everything is broken again. Really frustrating.

11th Guest does seem to be finicky regarding speed regardless.

Yeah, found the patches. Some were rather hard to find too. I was only able to find 2 11th Hour patches. The 2.42 patch and the Windows patch. the 2.42 patch is beta, and actually makes things worse. I also discovered some interesting facts. The speed issue for 11th Hour seems to operate in ranges. So cut scenes sound find from 19000-21000 29000-31000 etc... In game audio sounds fine from 14000-16000, 24000-26000 etc... Also the ranges "shift" during game play. So, an hour into the game and they reverse for some reason. I'm on the verge of doing with it what I did with Undermountain. That is, give up on playing in DOSBox and move it to my off system. Don't know if that will effect it though. My off system is 800Mhz - I use it for the ISA slots and True DOS sound cards (SB AWE32 + MPU401 etc...)
