Back in 1986, my parents bought an 286 with 20 megabyte harddrive, 640 kilobyte of memmory, EGA Gfx and 1.44 megabyte floppy.
The brand was Unisys, and it still works. My good.... What a sturdy and well made computer. Build like a tank, or machine gun.

Looking for Unisys computers on Ebay, I realize that these were indeed top notch build quality.

What happened to Unisys? Too expensive? As I never saw another Unisys anywere in Denmark.
Not even online auctions and trading places. Only Ebay. And they are indeed rare and hard to find.

Please share what issues there are, if any with these machines.

Hey vets, old thread I know but I recently acquired two boards which I’m guessing is like yours. Do you have any info on it? Does it have both PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports? Googling doesn’t turn up much of anything.

Thanks

I don't have any more info on it unfortunately. It does have both PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports attached to the motherboard. Also it supports both async cache and COAST cache.

Some benchmarks on it compared to other similar motherboards: Socket 5 & 7 Motherboard VGA Benchmark comparison

All of my high school's computers were unisys models, XT's in one lab and 286s in the other. I wish I could have one of them today. I wonder if any are still around in a storage or something. I should maybe drop by and ask.

UNISYS were godly good in terms of build quality.
