Well....
Just had a conversation on the phone, with one of my friends. He has some old hardware, he want to give me for the price of an GameBoy Micro (3 games: NES-Classic SuperMario - Boxed, Bomberman tournament plus Mariocart) and a P4-775 3 ghz CPU. (I might just toss a dlink wireless router in the deal as well)

Want I am getting in return is:
Gravis Ultrasound. (model is not known, yet it is not the ACE edition)
SB16 Value edition CT1740.
Philips branded MPEG-II decoder card. (CDI decoder)
TNT2 passive cooled AGP card with 16 megabyte memmory.

And all the ISA class hardware I can carry with me.
He told me that it is better to give it to someone who will use it and apreciate it, than just letting the stuff sit around in boxes.
So..... Good or bad deal?

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.

At least the CT1740 has the real OPL3 chip (YMF-262).
If the Gravis Ultrasound is the classic one (before ACE, MAX, PNP, etc), with 1 megabyte of DRAM, in my experience it was pretty compatible with everything.
Plus whatever ISA surprise goodies you can carry.

Surely you kid?

Unless the gameboy is something special to you, it is a terrific deal since P4 CPUs are almost worthless
ISA stuff is getting rarer (even though a lot was made)
I would do it

More and more I think about it, the more I suspect that this is the "motherload" of my life. Could be the last time I find something like this.
Actually, I told him that I now need to give him something in return. Not that it was part of the original deal.
The original deal, was more like a deal, were he is happy just to see the stuff getting used for the first time in years.

It is special, because it is 100% like new. Well, small scuff marks, yet it's all there.
All manuals, original box and even that little bag/purse that came in the box.

I agree - that P4 CPU is probably worth a few dollars (US) at most on ebay (its basically only worth something to folks who need one as a replacement part), and the Gameboy probably isn't worth a whole heap either. Sounds like a good deal as long as both of you are happy (given that you said friend, I'd say it's more important that neither of you feels "burned" or that you've been taken advantage of with a trade, than actual monetary value of the trade).

Good deal, gameboys aren't really worth anything, nor are those games you listed, compared to the rarity of, the other stuff your acquiring.

That SB and Gravis are more than worth it given how much the Gravis is worth. $100-150 as typically seen on ebay as for the p4 its worthless and I have chickens that are worth more 🤣.

On a far away planet reading your posts in the year 10,191.

Well, to me it really comes down to just the GUS alone.

Well... He is not interrested in this any more. So he will not feel cheated. He knows hardware and what it is worth.
The gameboy is actually worth the equivelant of 100 to 120 us-dollars here, because people have been high over heals to buy mine.
Games are sold for around 5 dollars unboxed. 10 to 15 dollars boxed with manuals. (my country is expensive regarding this stuff)

You got to act faster next time! 🤣 I find that you have to act fast to get deals like this before people change their minds (it's has happened so many times to me before).

A GUS like that is almost impossible to find on eBay now for a decent price. Also as for the ISA cards (especially video and sound cards)...it could have easily turned out to be some gems in there somewhere and yes that P4 s775 is pretty much a give away item. Gameboy is easily worth what you say, but too bad, I would rather have had a GUS and some cool ISA cards.

Sorry, I did not make my self 100% clear on "this".
By "this" I meant that he is not interrested in old hardware anymore.
He is more into taking pictures now.

Nope. 😀 If he changes his mind, then it should only be regarding the GUS, not Creative stuff and such.

EDIT:
And if he changes his mind about letting the GUS go to me, it is not such a big deal anyway.
One of my old GFX cards, that I gave him, is going back home now.

Another great thing is the SB16 Value Edition, as I had one of those back in 1995.
It died on me, just a month or so, after the warranty expired. 🙁
Now I will be getting one of those again. It's great for me, as the SB16-VE is one of the best I have owned.
It's a non PNP card, jumpers. And that is what I really apreciate. And the memmories I have. Yeahh...
More a love story between me and SB16 cards. And yes. I prefer adlib, over wavetable on Creative cards.
AWE32 simply just sounds awfull compared to Gravis. The SB-Live is for me, the first that beats GUS.
