Installed MS-DOS 6.22 and the DOS drivers for the Creative Ensoniq, everything is working great in DOS with the little PCI card.

Installed Windows 3.11 and was able to install an Intel 10/100 8255x PCI NIC and a 8MB ATI 3D RageIIC+ with their proprietary drivers. Growing up I only had 16 colors, high color and res in 3.1 is a real treat.

The only problem is sound, I could only find drivers for DOS and 9x. I've heard lots of people say 3.x is Dos but I'm unable to play any sounds while 3.1 is loaded. Installed a couple of media players but they cannot find an output device.

Can 3.x use the DOS driver or does it have to use its own? Does anyone know if there are drivers for 3.x for the creative/ensoniq cards? I'm not sure which ESS chip it is, it says Creative on it.

I tried google and downloaded a bunch of false leads. Anyone ever get sound to work with a PCI card in 3.x?
If anyone wants system specs or help with their Intel or RageII cards in 3.1 let me know.
Thanks

I tried some more and was unable to get it to work.

I'll have to acquire an ISA card for sound in 3.1, I'm not going to bother. I just like to tinker and wont really use it for much after getting it working.

PCI cards work in DOS which is the important thing.
