Alternate Reality – The City doesn’t seem to work with my DosBox versions .72 and .74. I’ve tried it on my PC which runs Windows 8 and my netbook. I get past the intro then into some sort of room that looks out a giant window then there are several box and they just continuously cycle random numbers and I can’t do anything.

Any ideas on what to do?

That's the stats page. It's waiting for you to press the spacebar in order to accept the values. Ideally, you want the highest numbers in each box, but don't worry about it too much.
