I've been playing Future Shock recently and then realised that Skynet allows you to play FS in 640x480. However nothing is that easy 🤣

Skynet's hi-res mode doesn't seem to like cards with VESA 2.0 support:

- S3 Savage4, VESA 2.0 - Black screen
- S3 Virge, VESA 2.0 via S3VBE TSR - Falls back to 320x200 mode
- S3 Virge, native VESA 1.2 - Works

As a result I've changed back to a STB Nitro3D (Virge GX) in my Socket7 machine. These games are notoriously unstable but have a certain charm to them. Performance wise 640x480 plays well on my K6-3+ 450.

Yeah it's not bad. It actually sounds just as good (maybe better) on AWE as it does on a Sound Canvas.

Yea the AWE sounds very good for techno / electronic kinda music if that makes sense 😀 Like in Descent for example. The Roland goes "what kind of Music is this???"

The music in this game sounds great with GeneralUserGS in my honest opinion.

I don't mean to thread hijack but what SVGA card would be great for maximum compatibility? Considering like you said, SkyNET hates VESA 2.0 for whatever reason. (Bethesda are single handedly the most incompetent game development studio I've ever seen... They got good ideas, but code like monkeys.)

Someone here sent me an alternate .exe for it that made it work. Just search the forum and you'll find my posts regarding it (feeling lazy).

Skynet + Future Shock is pretty unstable. I used DOSBox because it's easier to "reboot".
