I am playing this game using a pre-configured DOSBox made especially to run the game in Windows 8. The game starts up fine, but all I get is sound effects and no speech. The DOSBox version is 0.74.0.0 Can someone tell me what steps I need to take in order to get speech in the game?

Where did you get the game? If it's abandonware, we can't really help unfortunately.

Type set ULTRASND= and set ULTRADIR= before running TB.BAT from the installation folder.

The suggestion in the wiki appears to refer to 0.72 where GUS is enabled by default, and as such it is unlikely to do anything in 0.74 unless GUS was enabled for some reason. Also, setting gus=false is a better way to disable because it removes the hardware emulation as well as removing the environment variables.
