Picked up this Texas Instruments card off eBay, and it just arrived today.

On the reverse side, I noticed that the Intensity pin (pin 6) is solder-bridged with pins 1 and 2, which are ground.

This doesn't seem normal, but the solder job is quite neat, so I don't feel like it's an aftermarket hack... Any ideas?
