For a long time, I've wanted to run my old BASIC code that used the Tandy 3-voice system. On my current modern PC, those old BASIC programs run (meaning they don't crash and appear like they are trying to play) however, I never hear any sound.

So am I using a poor version of BASIC? Or do modern PC's not allow for the Tandy 3-voice system via BASIC to work? If the answer is "yes" to that previous question, would DOSBox allow them to work? Thanks.

Perhaps the lack of tandy 3-voice hardware on non tandy systems could explain it

Meaning it's ONLY a hardware issue, and therefore DOSBox won't help me any?

Dosbox can be setup to emulate a tandy like machine and it has emulation for the tandy 3-voice

Very cool! So do I only need DOSBox? Or do I need VDMSound as well? (I'm not sure which does what -- never been here before or worked with emulation).

And lastly... where in the world did you get that avatar!? 🤣!

Yep dosbox should be enough, think the tandy sound is enabled by default so find the dosbox starters guide on the forum here and use that.

And this avatar...
