First off, I hope I am asking this question corrrectly.

X86 Based PC (Presario 700 series notebook).
Mobile AMD Athlon 1.4GHz
256 Meg sdRam
Video Card: S3 Twister K Compaq Graphics Card with 36meg Shared.
Sound Card: Sound Max Integrated Digital Audio
Operating System: Windows XP SP1
Game: Wing Commander II

I am having a problem playing Wing Commander II. The music, speech, and the overall frame rate lag. It is unplayable. I'm not sure what the problem is. I set the CPU rate to 7000 (which runs about 90% of my processor). Everything else seems to work other than the lag (sound, graphics, etc).

Sound mode used: Sound Blaster
Video mode: Default, there wasn't an option to change anything.
Version of emulator: DOSBox 0.61

I have tried different CPU rates and searched all over the net (I just can't find anything to help).

I usally play WC2 at 3500 cycles, with frameskip of 2. YMMV But running at 90% of your processor might be a bit too much.

Ahh much better 😀 still lags but not bad! Now I have to work on this Illegal Call error 7 while jumping to a certain nav point and I'll be good to go 😁
