It's not a problem of a special program, it's more a general problem ... 😒

If I doubleclick on them in Windows (I'm using XP Pro) the DOS-Box pops up and closes instantly! If I try to run it with VDM Sound (doesn't seem to matter if I use the default or if I make a complete configuration), I get the above error massage! 🙁

Some programs magically work, others don't, and sometimes it changes ... 😢

For example I had this problem with Warcraft (CD Version), first it gave me this error everytime and after a (great) while, when I tried it again just for fun, it worked ... how strange! 😮

But I can't find any good answer, why this problem occours ...

Next thing is: This error seems to occur since I upgraded my PC ... before all worked fine, but then I upgraded (naturally I had to reinstall Windows too 😦 ) from an Athlon Thunderbird 700Mhz + 384MB RAM + Asus A7V(?) Mainboard + Geforce 256 to an Athlon XP 2700+ + 1GB RAM + Asus A7N8X (Revision 1.x) + Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (64Mb + AGP 8x), rest is the same as before (but I think I should mention the SB Audigy 2, because it could cause trouble too)

Instead of directly double-clicking on executables, run command-line prompt (CMD.EXE) to be able to see any error messages. Keep us posted on how it goes.
