I've gotten a lot of help with windows 3.1 by reading on these forums, but I have encountered a recent problem that is unsolvable for me. I'm not much of a computer expert so maybe (hopefully) This is a simple mistake. 😊

Because my laptop has no disc drive, I'm trying to Install Toy Story Activity Center via an iso. file in windows 3.1 using DosboX v0.77. It's starting up great, the game wants to install QuickTime 2.1.2 first so it starts the process, gives me the QuickTime files but what happens is that when it reaches 75%, it stops, saying File Handle could not be opened and aborts the installation. It was trying to install the Player.EXE File before it stopped. Here's the weird part, it want's to put it in. E:\\Player.EXE that extra slash is there for this file and not the others. I even tried installing it manually and it does the same thing with the extra slash for Player.EXE. I can't figure out what it's doing. I can't seem to bypass it wanting to install QuickTime, I even got the QuickTime 2.1.2 version personally and installed it in Windows 3.1, still won't work.

Any ideas?

Did you follow the guide for installing Windows 3.x? (my sig)
And what are your mountings? Where does the E drive come from (e.g. please give us your mountings and where Windows 3.x is installed to etc, anything you think might be helpful).
I don't have the game, so I can't really test.

Also, I hope you are using Dosbox 0.74 and NOT 0.77 😀

Sorry but all I have is Dosbox. 0.77 and it's working fine. Unless this topic blog is only for those who are using Dosbox. 0.74, Is that the case?

What do you mean there isn't? Odd it says on the Game Launcher V0.77 right at the top. Wait, but when I run a Dosbox Game it says 0.74 so I am using it. Oops, sorry about that.

Okay, also by mountings I'm guessing you're referring to the ones in Dosbox. 😁 (My friend is the one who got windows up in dosbox so I could play Yukon Trail again, that's why the folder is called that.

mount C "C:\Games\DOS\The Yukon Trail"

imgmount D "C:\Games\CD\TSAC.iso" -t iso

mount E "C:\Games\DOS\The Yukon trail\WINDOWS"

Does this help?

Yeah sorry, best would be installing Windows again following my guide closely, then installing the games again
The way your mountings look it seems too much of a mess to sort out remotely 🙁
