A used Audigy 2 ZX Platinum.
For $20 you should expect to get the 5.25 bay thingy as well as a flawless card.

It seems others agree 😀

For under $20 you should be able to pick up an SB Audigy 2 ZS which sounds great IMO.

EDIT: Sorry Skyscraper, typed my reply on my mobile before seeing your reply with the same recommendation. Oops!

If you don't need it right away, wait a little a cheap ZS will pop out, even X-Fi Xtreme Music.

Strange, there should be loads of them.
Perhaps Im spoiled with our local "Ebay" where bare cards often sell for less than 5$.

A card with Aureal Vortex 2.
They shoud cost 1-10$ for a bare card.
More for a boxed card.

This is how my card looks. I bought it in a lot with some other sound cards for a few dollars.
Some OEM version of a Turtle Beach Vortex 2 card.

If you want DOS, YMF715 , 718, 719 are best choices because of true DOS drivers and OPL3.
