Tried rubbing alcohol?

I dont think rubbing alcohol will remove that. It only removes the thinnest lines and ive been scrubbing for 10 minutes.

For this I try to use an old plastic card like an old credit card, though I have to admit it didn't work once for a 486 CPU that had this type of goo after I removed the passive HS (actually part of the writing on top of the chip came off along with the goo on the heatsink).

Tried heating it with a hair dryer or something? It may get looser/gooier when warm. Alternately freeze it, but be careful with condensation (that is, don't plug the card in immediately after, as it may create condensation and thus short).

I've used Goof Off (the little metal can version) for this. It's what I go to when alcohol and Goo Gone Citrus won't dissolve something. Usually hard adhesives or wax-like substances.

+1 for Goo Gone or Goof Off. Just try not to huff the fumes of the Goof Off stuff..... Potent!

Can I even find that in Serbia 😀
I was thinking of precice removal with an scalpel.

When I removed the heatsinks from my V5 cards, I used 99% isopropyl alcohol, q-tips, and an old credit card to remove the epoxy that was stuck to the chips. It took a long time and a lot of scrubbing/scraping to get it all off.

Be gentle and patient with it, and it'll eventually get clean.

I once read about somebody using very fine-grit sandpaper and a small block of wood to remove hardened epoxy. I do not recommend that.

Acetone, and 91% alcohol.
You can find diluted acetone in nailpolish, some stores sell pure Acetone, like Walmart, which is more effective.

Goof Off is mainly acetone and xylene.

Then its not a huge problem if you happen breath in some of the fumes while cleaning the cards, acetone and xylene are not very toxic substances.
You might get dizzy though.

You're wrong, strong 90% or better rubbing alcohol will soften the glue enough to even be scraped away by finger nail or credit card. Pour a little and put the cooler or something else in place to keep the alcohol from evaporating away too quickly then come back in an hour. Often it will just bubble up or come off in chunks but mostly just soft enough to scrape away.

An hour latter, 97% Alcohol removed glue from 1 chip. As well as a % of printed text.
And done:

I removed it in layers - Sip some 97% alcohol onto the chip, wait a few minutes, scrape, sip, scrape, in the end i was left with a small ammount i removed with cotton and alcohol rubbing.

Its just a bunch of wires, I dont think there will be a problem because they are so twisted around.

This looks awesome. I don't see what's wrong with the picture. Cables won't be a problem, as long as they don't touch a fan or something that's very very hot and keep in contact with it for a prolonged period of time.

I don't see what's supposed to be wrong either - it looks fine to me. If you mean having the fans powered "in-line" with the aux power connector - my FX 5800 Ultra has never cared if a fan is sharing its plug, so I doubt a Voodoo5 would really care either. The only "worry about this" problem would be if the card refuses to start because it doesn't detect its own fans, but if it's starting up and running fine, I think you're AOK.

I played some Half Life a while ago, works flawlessly.
Too bad i had to use a smaller fan becase the caps were in the way, but still the card is very silent (Both fans 24dB).

If only the rest of the fans were too 🤣
