Hi,

First poast!

I just created an ISO image of Jetfighter 3 off the cd, mounted it, and installed it. Then I ran Dosbox and tried mounting it, which worked. I ran JF3.EXE from within Dosbox, but it gave me an error about not having the CD in the drive. I had the CD physically in the drive, and out, and both times it gave me the error.

Any suggestions?

I used Windows Command Prompt, and it successfully started JF3 (with just the image mounted and no CD in the drive). It didn't work correctly though, had some weird stuff going on and didn't launch my mission.

surely you should run an install program to install it to your hdd, not just run jf3.exe from the image

It's installed on the hard drive. It was installed using an ISO, but it's definitely on the hdd.

You need to install the game *inside* DOSBox. And keep the CD mounted in DOSBox not just when installing, but also when playing the game.

Sorry for bumping this old topic from 3 years ago. I forgot about it and stumbled across DosBox again and my desire to get JetFighter 3 working again is still alive.

So, I copied the entire CD to a directory since I couldn't access the CD from inside Dosbox in order to install. I guess that's not the right way to proceed, so I need to know how to change over to the CD inside Dosbox. Can anyone help?

Ok good news, I figured out how to install the game, finally. But now I'm having trouble installing my joystick. Has anyone had a similar issue? I've tried setting up multiple different joysticks but none of them are being detected by the game. Another interesting thing is that when I try to increase throttle, it doesn't increase. Or at least it tries to but goes back down to zero...

SOLVED thanks to the fine people of this forum. Just saw another thread with the same issues and figured it out. Thanks!
