Hi everyone,

I'm completely new here so please forgive the infraction!

I don't know if this game runs in dos or Windows. The retail box I have says Windows 3.1 but this was supposed to have been able to install under Windows 95...........My PC has Windows 8.1

O.K. here's my situation:

I have 1942 Pacific Air War gold edition but the CD version not the floppy version.

I copied the disc contents to my C:\ drive to make installation easy.

When I opened dosbox to run the executable a "this must be run in windows" message appeared in the dosbox command line.

What do I do next?

Any help would be appreciated......I really want to run this game.

According to Moby the Gold Edition is Win3x only. You'll have to run it in Windows. To use DOSBox you will need to buy a copy of Win3x to install in DOSBox first. Oh, and in the future, as k DOSBox questions in the DOSBox forum. Perhaps a mod can move this for you.
