I honestly couldn't see the board well on yours.
Honestly, there doesn't seem to be a lot of jumpers on that board. Just make sure the two above the IDE connector are at the same position (PRI or SEC, Primary or Secondary), make sure the matching onboard controller is disabled and give it a go.

Ill try that when I get home, would I remove the jumper or set it to secondary?

I don't think you should ever use it with the jumper off. Either set it to primary or secondary, depending on what you want.
AFAIK if your motherboard only has one channel, you can set it to secondary and call it a day. If not, disable one of them (probably through jumpers on the motherboard, or BIOS options) and set the Maxtor board to take its place.

J1 is for the harddisk activity led.. (If you are lucky it would supports two leds, otherwise only one.

Pri = Primairy drive
Sec = Secundairy Drive..

The first set is for the harddisk controller, the second set is for the floppy controller..

If you dont have other controllers on your computer leave both on primairy.

If you are using already a harddisk and or floppy controller, you need to set both two secundairy.

That other jumper could by an IRQ setting for the controller *so you have an option to change that if one other card is occupy the one is selected on this card..

It also could be an Wait state 0 / 1 jumper..

You should just have to put it in, set the jumpers as Robin4 and I said, disable the onboard stuff you have to, put the IDE connector (beware not to put it in inverted or something like that) and, hopefully, the MOBO will start the card's BIOS and everything should work.

Would I need a driver or boot diskette for this? I can't find a lot on google, I'll try the P/N and FCC ID.

AFAIK you shouldn't need anything... The card's BIOS should provide DOS/Win3x everything it needs, and I bet even 9x would work, but on BIOS compatibility mode (slower) until you install the drivers. This is an older board so I wouldn't be surprised if Windows actually had the drivers built in

Well I think I may be getting somewhere. I tried a diff IDE cable and the hdd indicator light was on. There are only a few jumpers on the maxtor card. One is Jp5, I'm gonna mess with that jumper and see what happens.

If so, there is a jumper to disable the IDE controller, then set the board to primary, then you should be good to go;
Also, it seems you only have one controller, so you could also try setting the ISA board to secondary.
You might need to disable the onboard floppy controller too, and use the one on the Maxtor board.

Ok, Ill look for that jumper after I get home from school.

Is the bios the same as the setup? The setup does not have a lot of options. I can't get this machine to boot from the card. I'll keep thinking, and use the old trial and error method. Hopefully I can get it to work soon!

I took a picture of my pc booting up. I think the bios is different from the setup utility, they have different version numbers. I am not sure how to get into the bios with a key. I tried f2, and just about every function key, but it will say "keyboard stuck key".
