Hello everyone,

can anybody tell me if is gameport among devices when DOSBox starts? I have set it properly in config file and I just need to know if problem is with my device or in DOSBox.

I run DOSBox on Win98 and gameport is running well in win98 - but is not in DOSBox.

Thanks for advice. 😀

Why are you running DosBox under 98? If you have 98 installed, you should be able to run most DOS games just fine natively.

Have you tried running joytest.exe in DOSBox?
You can download it from wd's attachment in this thread
Joystick problem in v0.70 - Microsoft Sidewinder Pad

This YouTube video shows what it does (around 45 seconds into the video)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lHAzSyw9RQ

In XP and later, the joystick is detected as long as your dosbox-0.74.conf file doesn't have joysticktype=none
(assuming you have a joystick connected and configured in Windows)
By default it was set to joysticktype=auto on my computer

I don't know how well the joystick detection works if you're running DOSBox on Windows 98.
