most of you should know about the "coolbits" registry for nvidia drivers, which enables overclocking and some other hidden features.
the problem is, as some of you may remember, that most driver versions in 1x.xx series simply don't respond to this tweak(either older or newer drivers work). are there any other ways to enable the hidden features(most important one being disabling vsync for d3d), or directly change settings via registry?

Ran into the same issue a while ago. I used PowerStrip to disable V-sync. This also worked for all Matrox cards 😀

+1 for Powerstrip... it generally gets the job done, regardless of manufacturer.

For Nvidia cards, RivaTuner is also an excellent option. Version 2.24c still works on Windows 98, and seems to support virtually all cards and driver versions. It gives you options galore, including VSync.
