Hello folks,
quick facts:
- VDMSound 2.10 beta installed and working in several games, adlib as well as sb emu work.
- Target game does not have setup, it depends on the blaster env var.
- Var is set correctly by VDM itself, game notices and switches to soundblaster support.
- No sound. Not even a beep. Game runs, does not crash, but nothing is heard.
Machine is a rather new AMD Duron 1600 with onboard sound, VIA chipset, Win2k Professional, current SP. All drivers installed and fully operational, and these lines should be completely irrelevant as VDMS works anyway, only this game doesn't.
Game is running with win2k forcedos loader.
In case of interest, the game is classified abandonware and can be downloaded from the files section of the Yahoo Oxyd Group:

My efforts so far:
- IRQ and DMA changes
- Randomly turning compatibility features on and off
- Tried SoundFX 2000 (I know, the evil enemy), which did work one or two times but not reliable
Perhaps anyone knows some secret settings combination for this game or any things to try?
