I am using a Dell 2.8 GHZ Pentium 4 with a soundblaster live 5.1 sound card. I am getting no music from the game. I am using VDMSound 2.1.0.
Everything is set as default except, MSCDEX low level support is enabled, Joystick is disabled, CLI/POPF is disabled and SAPUCDEX is specified in dos environment. Any help os welcome.

Check the soundmixer of your Creative soundcard.
Start / All Programs / Creative / Soundblaster Live! / Creative Surround Mixer.
CD - audio may not be muted, it is muted by default.
Hope this helps.

Sometimes the game CD comes without CD audio. To solve this go here: http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/windowsxp.html

Yes, but he said he had had music in this game on old computer.
I think he should check if his CD-drive is connected by cable with sound card or motherboard with build-in sound. Tomb Raider 1 plays music in analog mode only so this cable is absolutely necessary.

also... the budget version of the game didn't contain the music tracks... (bye-bye cutscene audio)...

... I bought the game simply for the music... imagine my surprise when it wasn't there 😜
