The error the game states is something like: Couldn't load 4 pages of graphicresolution 640x400 - video mode 1 page 320x200.
I did find out that there seems to be a way to trick my system (Windows2000 SP3, GeForce4 Ti4200)

How did you get ToonStruck to install?

When I try to run setup.exe it just exits (in Win XP).

I still can't get setup.exe in XP but installed it from a Dos boot disk and installed VDM and NOLFB.EXE and while it runs, the screen is mostly corrupted (except in the videos).

I even installed the modified univbe drivers that used to be on this page and that didn't help.

I can run at 320x200 but that looks awful.

Also the sound crackles a lot.

Attempting to run UniVBE within XP is not a good idea as it was meant for DOS.

If I ever get ahold of this game, I'll test it for compatibility.

Hi, I got it to run in 320X200 with sound... and it kind of runs with 640X400 but not correctly... i changed my config file etc and added "nolfb.com" to the toonstrk.bat file and rnun it with VDMSound. but when it loads up 640x400, 1/2 the sreen is behind black, in a big digonal line... so annyoing

this ahppening to anyone else who got this far? im pissed off (>_<)

when i finaly get it to work, i'll make a full website dedicated to this tutorial!!!

Either a messed up screen at 640X400 or a perfectly working (but horribly looking) screen at 320x200. 🙁

Still, the 320X200 resolution isn't all that bad in terms of gameplay, it's just annoying more then anything. 😒

If anyone has found a way to get this to work any better please tell us!

I got it to work with vdmsound 2.1.0 set to original soundblaster (same in toonstruck setup) and nolfb. remember to use vdmsound and nolfb for the setup.exe as well before you setup the sound and video, otherwise you will need to reinstall the game(it loggs the failed video mode detection attempts in the setup) It worked fine on my machine. Duron 1300MHz, 256MB ram,nForce audio, Geforce fx5200 Windows xp Pro SP2. Sound will jump every now and then, but its not that bad.
