On my i7 4770 @ 3.8 GHz I get about 50-80 FPS (under 60 in Episode 1 boss fight) and 45-75 in 800x600. Is this average performance?

What were the DOS expected FPS?

A p2 300 (highest end 1997 offering) would run it in 800x600 around 15-25fps IIRC.

Please know that the FPS dips from translucency overdraw is completely normal behavior.

On my "too kool 4 new school" rig (P4 @ 2.8 GHz, Voodoo 3 2000 PCI, 384 MB of RAM) gets me 30-75 FPS in 640x480.
Should give you an idea.
