Hi All...

I did a thorough search and I haven't been very successful with this one.

In space quest 4 floppy version, the adlib driver works fine, but the sound blaster driver is a no go. It loads, then sits at a mouse pointer and goes no further.

I've gosierra'ed, i've changed sndblast.drv files, i've dosbox'ed settings everywhere, vdmsound.... all with the same result...

Anyone got any pointers, helpful hints etc?

This game doesn't use the 'audblast.drv' set eg SQ5 does, its an older type. Bit of a loss here 🙁

Oookay. To partially answer my question....

I just tried vdmsound with the mtblast.drv file (MT-32 w/sound blaster) and it worked....

So... WTF? How can it work with soundblaster + mt32, but not just soundblaster 😒

Any clues would be appreciated 😀

Okay, scrap it all, I fixed the problem!

Dodgy sndblast.drv file.... Dont know how it happened, restored a fresh version (different size too 😒) and now it works fine
